Do you have service recipients wondering what it takes to buy their first home? Or maybe you're looking to buy for the first time, too? All are invited to join us for the Housing Counselor Collaborative + Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Homeownership Resource Fair on Saturday, October 11 in Phoenix! This free event is designed to help those with questions about buying and financing their first home.
💙 If you're not quite ready to purchase a home, that's completely fine! Maybe you'd like to know what you can afford? Or maybe you're trying to figure out your next steps to prepare for the process. No matter what stage you're in, representatives will be onsite to talk through your options and answer any questions you have. There will be no pressure or expectations.

















Phoenix VA Suicide Prevention Awareness Walk
The Phoenix VA Suicide Prevention Team is hosting a Suicide Prevention Awareness Walk Come learn about various resources from our vendors.
The walk will start on the Circle of Life path and leads to Memorial Hall where there will be vendors with information and resources for Veterans and anyone who wants to participate in the walk. The Phoenix VAMC is within walking distance of the Hall.

Building Plaque Dedication for Major Fannie Griffin-McClendon 6888th Postal Battalion
The Phoenix VA Health Care System will honor one of our local WWII Veterans and heroes, Major Fannie Griffin-McClendon (ret) with a building plaque dedication on August 21, 2025, at Steele Indian School Park, Memorial Hall, 10am-12:00pm.
Maj. McClendon who is now 104-years old is the oldest Veteran we serve within our healthcare system. She is the last living 6888th Postal Battalion woman veteran. Born in Layfette, Louisiana on September 22, 1920, Maj. McClendon was a First. On July 31, 2020, former Arizona Governor Doug Ducey signed a proclamation declaring August 15, 2020, the Six Triple Eight Central Postal Directory Battalion Day in Arizona. She is also an active member of the Archer-Ragsdale Arizona chapter of Tuskegee Airmen Inc. Maj. McClendon is the only surviving member of the 6888th and we would like to honor her for her remarkable contribution to our country and her trailblazing efforts and dedication to service.living 6888th Postal Battalion veterans.
